If you’ve been dealing with pain for a while, you’ve probably found a few things that help temporarily.


Maybe you get adjusted every week.

Maybe you stretch the same tight areas every morning.

Maybe you foam roll, massage, or do mobility work.


And for a little while, it helps. But then the tightness comes back, the pain returns, and you’re right back where you started.


Many active adults get stuck in this cycle for years. They are constantly managing symptoms instead of actually solving the problem.


Why Relief Doesn’t Always Last

Adjustments and stretching can provide relief, but they rarely change the underlying reason the pain started in the first place.


If your body keeps moving the same way, the same stress keeps showing up in the same places.


For example, a tight hamstring is often not actually a hamstring problem. It can be a compensation for how your pelvis moves, how your hips rotate, or how your body stabilizes when you walk or exercise.


The hamstring just happens to be the area that feels tight. When you stretch it, you might feel better for a short period of time; but if the movement pattern doesn’t change, the tightness usually returns.


The same thing happens with adjustments. They can restore motion and reduce pain, but if the body hasn’t learned how to stabilize and move differently afterward, the joint often returns to the same position. That’s why many people feel like they need adjustments or stretching every week just to stay comfortable.
